Maren, behind the bar
I ran a wine bar in Cologne-Ehrenfeld for eleven years. In 2009 I came to Moraira, for one year, I said. In 2014 I took over the old village house on Carrer de la Font Seca and spent a year arguing with the beams. The bar, the wine list and the till are mine. Whoever calls, talks to me.
Rafel, at the coals
Rafel is from Teulada, right next door. He cooks from the market and the coals and refuses to laminate the menu, because it is meant to change. What comes ashore in Dénia in the morning is on our board in the evening. No more concept than that is needed.
The name
La Segona Ronda means the second round. It is the moment the evening decides to stay. We named the bar after it because that is all we want: for you to come for a glass and stay because it feels right. The fire does the rest.
