Selling online from Spain is not the same job as selling from the Netherlands. The shop is the easy part. What catches people out is everything attached to taking money from a customer in another country.
On established platforms, not on something I invented.
A shop is a website with a catalogue, a checkout and an order flow attached. I build those on the platforms that already handle payments, tax and shipping properly, rather than writing a payment system of my own. That is not a limitation, it is the correct decision. Your money should move through software that thousands of shops have already stress-tested.
I have been building websites for over 20 years. What I bring to a shop is the part that is the same as any other site done well: it loads fast, it works on a phone, it is findable, and the legal layer is there from day one rather than bolted on after somebody complains.
A shop that takes money has a longer legal surface than a brochure site.
Selling to consumers at a distance generally brings obligations a normal website does not have: clear pre-contract information, a withdrawal and returns policy, terms that hold up, and the privacy and cookie layer on top. Exactly which of these apply to you depends on what you sell, to whom, and where they live, so treat this as a risk to check rather than a settled list.
What I can tell you is that it is the part cheap shop builds skip most reliably, and the part that is expensive to retrofit. I build it in as standard. Where you need an actual lawyer, I will say so rather than pretend I am one.
Across the Marina Alta and the wider Costa Blanca.
Most of my work sits between Moraira, Benissa, Jávea and Calpe, and I live in Dénia, so meeting in person is straightforward. Anywhere else on the Costa Blanca, ask.
What I will turn down.
A shop with a few dozen products, a normal checkout and a clear delivery area is work I am glad to take. A marketplace with multiple sellers, a warehouse integration, or a catalogue in the thousands is not, and I would rather tell you that in the first conversation than discover it in week three.
If your shop needs something I cannot do well, I will say so before we start. Sometimes the answer is that you need a specialist, and occasionally the answer is that you do not need a shop at all, just a decent site and a way to take a booking.
Fixed before we start, quoted once I know what you sell.
I do not put a shop price on this page, because the honest number depends on how many products you have, how you take payment and where you ship. Anyone quoting a webshop price before asking those questions is either guessing or planning to bill you the difference later.
You still get a fixed price before any work begins, and a delivery date at the start rather than at the end. My regular website packages are listed openly if you want a sense of how I price. All figures are net, plus 21% IVA.
Frequently asked questions
Do you speak Dutch?
No, and I would rather say so plainly than let you find out later. I work with Dutch-speaking clients in English, and I am also a native German speaker with business-level Spanish. Your shop content is delivered in Dutch, written or reviewed to your specification.
How many shops have you built?
Fewer than the agencies competing for this page, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. My track record is in websites, over 20 years of them, including the performance, multilingual and legal work a shop needs. If you want somebody with a wall of e-commerce case studies, that is a fair reason to choose someone else.
Which platform do you use?
Whichever fits what you sell. That decision follows your catalogue, your payment method and your shipping, and I will explain the trade-off in plain language before we commit to one.
Can the shop be multilingual?
Yes, and on this coast it usually should be. Dutch alongside German, English or Spanish on the same shop. Most businesses here are selling to at least two language groups.
Do you handle the legal texts?
I build in the standard layer: privacy, cookies, aviso legal, and the terms and returns pages a shop needs. For anything specific to your product or your tax position, you want proper advice, and I will tell you when you have reached that line.
I already have a shop that is not working.
Describe what you have. I will tell you honestly whether it needs rebuilding or fixing. A slow, unfindable shop is often a fixable shop, and that is cheaper for you than starting again.
Tell me what you sell.
I reply within one working day, and I will tell you straight whether this is work for me.
I reply, personally, usually the same day · No obligation · Your details aren't shared
